1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By registering for the Minoan RoboSports Competition 2026 (MRC 2026), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or legal guardian must read and accept these terms on your behalf.

2. EVENT DETAILS

• Event Name: Minoan RoboSports Competition 2026
• Date: February 20, 2026
• Location: St Christophers Kiamba, Makueni County, Kenya
• Organizer: QuantekLab

3. ELIGIBILITY

• MRC 2026 is open to primary and secondary school students in Kenya
• Participants must be enrolled in a recognized educational institution
• Age restrictions may apply to specific competition categories
• All information provided during registration must be accurate and truthful

4. REGISTRATION AND FEES

4.1 Registration Types:

• Individual Member: KSh 3,000 per person
• Full Team Package: KSh 7,000 (2-3 members, includes t-shirts and certificates)

4.2 Payment:

• All fees must be paid in full before the registration deadline
• Early bird discount of 10% applies to registrations before the specified date
• Payment can be made via M-Pesa, Bank Transfer, or Cash
• Registration is confirmed only upon receipt and verification of payment

4.3 Refund Policy:

• Registration fees are non-refundable except in the following cases:
  • Event cancellation by organizers
  • Participant injury or medical emergency (with valid medical documentation)
  • Force majeure events
• Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@quanteklab.com
• Approved refunds will be processed within 30 days
• No refunds will be given for no-shows or voluntary withdrawals

5. COMPETITION RULES

5.1 General Rules:

• All participants must follow the competition guidelines and rules for their chosen category
• Participants must arrive on time for their scheduled events
• Any form of cheating, unsportsmanlike conduct, or rule violations may result in disqualification
• The organizers' decisions are final and binding

5.2 Categories:

• Archery Robotics
• Humanoid Challenge
• Drone Racing
• Relay Race
• Biznovation Challenge (Climate & Sustainability Innovation)

5.3 Equipment:

• Teams are responsible for bringing their own robots and equipment
• All robots must meet the safety and technical specifications provided
• The organizers are not liable for any damage to participants' equipment

6. SAFETY AND LIABILITY

6.1 Health and Safety:

• Participants must follow all safety instructions provided by event officials
• Any participant displaying unsafe behavior may be removed from the competition
• Parents/guardians must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs

6.2 Limitation of Liability:

QuantekLab and event organizers are not liable for:

• Personal injuries sustained during the event
• Loss, theft, or damage to personal property
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Participants and parents/guardians assume all risks associated with participation.

6.3 Medical Emergency:

• By registering, you authorize event organizers to seek emergency medical treatment if necessary
• Parents/guardians will be contacted immediately in case of medical emergencies
• Participants are advised to have valid medical/health insurance

7. PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEDIA RIGHTS

7.1 Consent:

By participating, you consent to being photographed, filmed, and recorded during the event. QuantekLab may use photos, videos, and recordings for:

• Promotional materials
• Social media content
• Marketing and advertising
• Documentation and reporting

7.2 Usage Rights:

• The organizers retain all rights to media captured during the event
• No compensation will be provided for use of participant likenesses
• If you do not consent to photography, you must notify us in writing before the event

8. CODE OF CONDUCT

All participants, parents, and guardians must:

• Treat all participants, officials, and volunteers with respect
• Avoid any discriminatory, offensive, or abusive language or behavior
• Follow all venue rules and regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe environment

Violation of the code of conduct may result in immediate removal from the event without refund.

9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

• Participants retain ownership of their robot designs and innovations
• By participating in the Biznovation Challenge, participants grant QuantekLab the right to showcase their projects for educational and promotional purposes
• The MRC 2026 name, logo, and branding are property of QuantekLab

10. EVENT MODIFICATIONS

QuantekLab reserves the right to:

• Modify event schedule, venue, or competition categories
• Cancel or postpone the event due to circumstances beyond our control
• Change these Terms and Conditions with reasonable notice

Participants will be notified of any significant changes via email or phone.

11. DATA PROTECTION

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

12. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Kenya.
