This Privacy Policy applies to QuantekLab, MakersPlace Kenya, our website, STEM education programs, robotics events, software portfolio inquiries, donations, and related services. Some products, such as LabLearn or specific competitions, may also provide additional privacy notices where needed.
Information We Collect
We collect information that is necessary to run our programs, respond to inquiries, process registrations, and improve our services. This may include:
- Contact details such as name, email address, phone number, school, organization, and role.
- Program and event registration details such as learner name, age, grade, school, team details, coach details, parent or guardian details, T-shirt size, and consent confirmations.
- Payment-related details such as amount, payment method, bank reference, M-Pesa transaction code, payment date, and invoice or registration status. We do not ask for M-Pesa PINs, bank passwords, or card security codes.
- Messages, project inquiries, volunteer requests, partnership requests, testimonial content, photos, videos, or files that you choose to submit.
- Technical information such as device type, browser, approximate location, pages visited, form errors, and security logs.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to messages, inquiries, partnership requests, and software project requests.
- Register learners, teams, schools, coaches, and participants for programs and competitions.
- Confirm payments, send registration confirmations, issue receipts, and provide support.
- Deliver STEM education, robotics, teacher training, mentorship, and software services.
- Manage galleries, testimonials, program updates, partner listings, and website content where consent has been given.
- Protect our website, systems, learners, staff, partners, and events from fraud, misuse, or security incidents.

Children and Learners
Because QuantekLab serves learners, we take extra care with children's information. For minors, we require parent, guardian, school, or coach involvement where appropriate. We collect only the information needed for registration, safeguarding, participation, communication, and reporting. We do not knowingly use children's information for unrelated marketing, and parents or guardians may contact us to access, correct, or request deletion of a child's information where permitted by law.

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only when necessary with trusted service providers and partners, including hosting providers, Firebase/Google Cloud services, email delivery providers, payment providers such as M-Pesa or banks, donation platforms, schools, event partners, mentors, and professional advisers. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including program delivery, participant support, legal compliance, financial records, safeguarding records, dispute resolution, and audit needs. When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or archive it securely.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, secure hosting, restricted administrative access, and careful handling of payment references and learner records. No online system is completely secure, so we encourage users to avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information through forms.

Subject to applicable law, you may request to be informed about processing, access your personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, object to processing, restrict processing, or request portability.
